Australian artists Catherine Sagin (1986) and Kate Woodcroft (1987) (‘Catherine or Kate’) have been working collaboratively since 2008. They met during their undergraduate studies at the Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane) in 2005 and have both since completed a Master of Fine Arts.  Their successes and failures include; competing in a live fencing duel, posing as chairmen of the Queensland Maritime Museum and polling service station attendants to ascertain who is more attractive.

Catherine or Kate have recently been awarded the Melville Haysom Memorial scholarship by the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane. They are also recipients of Arts Queensland Career Development and Australia Council ArtStart grants and have exhibited both locally and interstate at the Institute of Modern Art (Brisbane), Boxcopy (Brisbane), ARTSPACE (Sydney), Firstdraft (Sydney) & Rearview (Melbourne). In early 2011 they were residents at Skaftfell Centre of Art, Iceland. They have recently returned from a mentorship at Spike Island in Bristol with British duo John Wood and Paul Harrison.
